Hop Aboard MV Doulos Hope 2024

For our homeschooling lesson, we are about to explore outside. We will have a mini trip to witness a once-in-a-lifetime experience with the biggest floating library! MV Doulos Hope once again docked in the Philippines, and we were lucky that it was near our place. Last 2008, I was able to experience going through the ship of MV Doulos and hoarding over books that the ship contained. I vividly remember the first time I hopped aboard because I lost the photo that we had back then. Back in the days where there were no phones with cameras and we just used a digicam for momentos.

It was indeed a one-of-a-kind experience, so I instantly booked a tour once again so that my daughter will be able to experience it too, along with my family.

You just need to book a tour via their website, pay for a minimum fee including the port fee, fall in line, and wait for your turn to go up. There was a bit of a misunderstanding with the queue because a lot of walkins didn't know that a booking was required. We were able to go up after an hour or so of waiting and meddling with the staff. Good thing we were still able to witness the sunset while on the ship.

A lot of books were sold out when we got up, and we weren't able to buy the Bible that we saw from a friend. Still, I let my daughter choose among the books that we saw on the bookshelves and have some photos aboard.

Did you know that MV Doulos Hope is the largest floating library or book fair? The MV Doulos Hope and Logos Hope visited over 480 different ports in more than 150 countries and territories and welcomed over 50 million visitors on board. Their goal is to share knowledge, help, and hope in every port we visit.

I hope that more than the books we bought, my daughter was able to impart a memory of hopping aboard the MV Doulos Hope. And I hope for another year ahead, she will be able to get to see the MV Doulos once again.
